Balet Bratislava Stage Another Premiere on Friday

On Friday, 16th March the third premiere of company Balet Bratislava in the current season takes place at the New Stage Theatre in Bratislava. Several short pieces by famous Czech choreographers have been put together in a programme called Czech In.
For the show, dancers of Balet Bratislava have been recently rehearsing Six Dances and Falling Angels by Jiří Kylián, former artistic director of the Nederlands Dans Theater and internationally acclaimed Czech-born choreographer, whose works are known throughout the world. The first piece brings on the stage humour and elements of slapstick, so rare in the field of dance. In contrast with Six Dances the second composition is purely physical. Falling Angels is an embodiment of the music by American composer Steve Reich.
Another choreographer, whose work is on the programme is Libor Vaculík. His Slavonic Duets to the music by Antonín Dvořák are performed by the international cast of Balet Bratislava dancers for the first time in Slovakia. Dancers of the National Theatre in Prague then appear as guests in the choreography Lyrická by Petr Zuska.
Another performances are scheduled on March 16th, 17th and 25th at the New Stage Theatre in Bratislava.

Next weekend on Saturday, 24th March 2012 Balet Bratislava appear as guests at the Janáček Theatre in Brno in the ballet Romeo and Juliet. The piece, choreographed by the artistic director Mario Radačovský, was the very first production the company ever performed in the autumn last year.
