DOT504 and SKUTR Stage Together a New Production Called TWINE

In the course of their artistic career DOT504 have developed a characteristic, peculiar form of physical dance theatre. Two leading dancers of the company - Lenka Vágnerová and Pavel Mašek - have decided to approach a pair of well-known authors Lukáš Trpišovský and Martin Kukučka of SKUTR, who will thus venture in the specific style and genre that is typical of DOT504. Actor Petr Vančura takes part as a guest in the project too. The production is supposed to demonstrate the mingling of individual destinies in a present-day society that bring about both funny and sad stories of our lives. It is said that some uncommon, even absurd scenes that accompany us throughout our lives and that we try hard to solve, cope with or even suppress in our minds are to be seen on the stage.
The original productions by SKUTR combine dance, movement, acrobatics, puppets, visual projections, lightdesign, text and sound and can be described as crossover or multi-genre productions. They are inspired either by a given theme, a place of origin or by people who work on it. This resulted for instance in productions inspired by Internet communication, or those that drew from Andersen themes, various traditions or from new circus, etc. (Nickname, Understand, Little Death, La Putyka). In addition to their creative work Martin Kukučka and Lukáš Trpišovský also directed at leading Czech stages (the National Theatre in Prague, Divadlo Na zábradlí, Švandovo divadlo, Divadlo Petra Bezruče or HaDivadlo) and abroad - Pozoriště FDU in Belgrade (Serbia) (Neograničené line / Borderless Lines, 2008) and Lubuski Teatr im. Leona Kruczkowskiego w Zielonej Górze (Poland) (Teraz Na Zawsze, 2009 and Spigel im Spigel, 2010), International Festival Miasto in Polish Legnica (Wojskowy Dom Kultury, 2009). Lenka Vágnerová

Pavel Mašek has a degree in social and cultural anthropology from the West-Bohemian University in Pilsen. As a dancer Pavel cooperated with Jozef Fruček and Linda Kapetanea, Thomas Steyaert, Anton Lachký, Puttó - Isztvan Juhos, Liz King, new circus company Cirk La Putyka and others. He practised Capoeira led by prof. Pacoca. Pavel was nominated as the best dancer of the year 2009 at the Tanec Praha Festival. Petr Vančura
Actor Petr Vančura performed on a professional stage while still studying at the Theatre Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU), namely at the DISK Theatre in Kytice by K.J. Erben, but also in other roles at venues such as Roxy Club and Studio Ypsilon. Among his somewhat more dramatic and classical roles are for instance Ivan in Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov or detective Hercule Poirot in Orient Express. Currently he is a member of the Prague alternative theatre Alfred ve dvoře, where he performs in the original production Zlatý Diviš. For more, please check: www.nod.roxy.cz.
