French acrobatics ensemble Cirque Aïtal opens autumn edition of New Circus Season Pilsen 2015

The New Circus Season will present its last but one foreign production on 24 September 2015, within the project Pilsen – European Capital of Culture. The big top, this time installed in the Borský park, will house the French company Cirque Aïtal and its show Pour le meilleur at pour le pire (For Better or for Worse) which will be performed seven times by 1 October 2015. The show is language barrier-free” and is intended for families with children aged six and more.
The two main protagonists are acrobats, actors and also co-founders of the company, the French Victor Cathala and Finnish Kati Pikkarainen. Amazing aerial acrobatics, humour and delicate poetics of the piece is what makes this international couple so special. This time, they will perform on the floor covered with earth,” says the Artistic Director of Pilsen 2015, Petr Forman.
Pour le meilleurs at pour le pire was premiered in November 2011.
To the sounds of a car radio, the couple drags the audience into the world of their uncommon relationship. The piece tells the story of two actors who are constantly on the road, in their car, they are sad, joyful, experiencing happy and sorrowful moments when laughter mixes with tears and rhythm with dust and scent of petrol. It is full of poetry, rock’n’roll and humour. All that plus incredible aerial acrobatics make Pour le meilleur et pour le pire a strong and breath-taking circus show,” add the organisers of the New Circus Season Pilsen 2015.
Cirque Aïtal was founded by Victor Cathala and Kati Pikkarainen in 2004 and Pour le meilleur et pour le pire is their second production. The name of the company means
it is what it is” in Occitan.
Following the guest performances of Cirque Aïtal, the New Circus Season - Pilsen 2015 continues with the DaeMen/Loser(s) Cirque Company on 22 October and French ensemble Akoreacro’s performance Klaxon from 10 to 15 November. Klaxon promises a show of six acrobats, five musicians, one runaway piano and acrobatics.
