About Prague Chamber Ballet The history of Prague Chamber Ballet goes back to the 1960, a time when Luboš Ogoun, Pavel Šmok and Vladimír Vašut established „Ballet Prague“. The original idea was later developed by Pavel Šmok who founded „Prague Chamber Ballet“ in 1975. Until 1980, the company worked under the Municipal Theatres of Prague; later it became a part of Czech Music Fund and Pragokoncert. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, Prague Chamber Ballet started operating within the structures of Czech Art Centre to finally become independent in 1996. The repertory offered Pavel Šmok’s choreographies as well as pieces created by diverse guest choreographers (among them L. Vaculík, P. Zuska, J. Kylián, R. North, Ch. Bruce). In 2003, the company became a part of the State Opera in Prague, cutting adrift again in 2007. Since then, Prague Chamber Ballet has been offering pieces by P. Šmok and other choreographers (L. Holánková, J. Kodet, J. Przybylowicz, H. Turečková, and many more).
