Second Laboratory wasn’t entirely European because dancers from Iraq brought aspects of very different culture to the programme – their piece Crying of My Mother by Muhanad Rasheed dealing with religious hatred performed by charismatic dancers was the highlight of the evening. Russian piece My Body Is a Mobile Phone by Monkey Production brought mechanical movement to the stage where the audience was hypnotised by minimalistic sequences of robot-like dancers. The Irish Legitimate Bodies Dance Company enriched the evening with acting and humour, well received by the audience. Presented: 17th and 18th June 2009, Ponec Theatre
