Ballettissimo: New Premiere of the National Theatre Ballet in March

Ballettissimo – it is the name itself, evoking something like plethora of ballet. It shall be designed by three European creators in a combined evening, the leitmotif of which are various views and options, how to apply conventional ballet techniques of today, both in the traditional and the very non-conforming (ultramodern) senses of the word.
The performance will begin with the Symphony No. 1 in D major by Gustav Mahler, an opus created by the artistic director of the National Theatre Ballet in Prague, Petr Zuska, for his ensemble in 2010, having its world premiere at EXPO in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.
The evening conclusion belongs to Ludwig van Beethoven and his Symphony No. 7 in A major, in an astounding choreography of Uwe Scholz. This world-wide known German creator, who prematurely died ten years ago, was for many years the director of the ballet ensemble in Leipzig and is frequently described as the “Balanchine of Europe”.
In between these two symphonic and already presented pieces of work there appears as a contrast thereto an opus entirely new, Reflections on the Fate of Human Forms. Its creator is the Italian, Jacopo Godani, belonging among the most essential and most particular names of the present European dancing stage. Source: National Theatre
