From 13 to 18 July Prague awaits 7th annual festival of street theater Behind the Door. The metropolis is bringing dozens of companies and will revitalize the city center and Exhibition Grounds Holešovice. Opening will include a project Gateway to Fantasy that promises the participation of more than 30 performers, tightrope crossing or a helium balloon with an acrobat. The admission to the festival is free, with the exception of one production. Behind the Door festival brings clownerie and new circus to Prague audience. On the first day of the festival for the first time in the Czech Republic there will be floating, helium-filled balloon with an acrobat. Accompanied by a tightrope crossing by German Oliver Zimmermann, one of 20 people in the world who participated in a kilometer-long crossing of the rope. Another 30 artists, acrobats and performers, will join the opening. "The Gateway to Fantasy is a story about human dreams and fantasies, which know no borders," suggests the festival director and director of the performance Jakub Vedral, adding: "For the first time in the Czech Republic we will be able to see an acrobatic 6 metres big balloon. 165 m cubic filled with helium will float along with the acrobat at the Industrial Palace on July 13 from 9pm. That much would be enough to fill more than 14,000 balloons.  After Monday's launch, the festival will continue on six more locations in Prague. In addition to the Exhibition Grounds the audiences can look forward to street theatre at the Wenceslas and Jungmann Squares, Můstek, Na Příkopě, Florenc and Anděl. "Behind the Door festival has been expanded to new locations this year. From the traditional city center we are reaching other crossroads. We want the people to stop for a moment in the everyday rush to rest and enjoy a pleasant time," the festival organizer Michaela Holbíková says. Behind the Door festival will be held after Monday's launch always from 4pm until the evening. Last performances begin at 9pm. The festival will showcase companies Underclouds Compagnie, Polish Teatro KTO or Spanish Companyia La Tal and dozens of other groups. The exception is Wednesday, the 16th, and Thursday, July 17, when Holešovice Exhibition Grounds welcomes Teatro Tatro with their chapiteau. Slovak actors in a performance of The Master and Margaret, will perform a story about love and evil, God and the Devil.
