Bohemia Balet at the New Stage of the National Thatre

Bohemia Balet – the company of the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City Prague prepares an Evening of Czech Chorepgraphers for its premiere of 2011 on 28th March. The performance shall open with the piece Trio g minor, composed by Bedřich Smetana and choreographed by the distinguished czech choreographer Pavel Šmok, followed by the renewed premiere Czech Suite D dur op. 39 to the composition of Antonín Dvořák, choreographed by Kateřina Dedková. Kateřina Dedková danced the latter choreography herself at her graduation concert in the year of 1991. Based on her collaboration on the duet Musica Slovaca / Zelenka, Šmok/ and on her collaboration in presenting the choreography Trio g minor, she now takes the liberty as a choreographer to showcase her own adaptation of the Czech Suite D dur op. 39 to give young talented interprets an opportunity to display their all-round dance competences. Similar to the music, the choreography is also a stylization of folklore dance forms.
Young talented choreographer Sylva Nečasová – graduate of the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City Prague, member of The Ballet of the National Theatre of Prague, created the ballet Triangl for the company. She was inspired by the french pianist Maxence Cyrin, who in his acustic album titled Modern Rapsodies converted a number of electronical compositions into traditional score and replayed them on piano. In the very same way as the pianist moved from classical music through electronical composition to pure music, the choreographer is seeking for a passage leading to pure movement in dance.
The final part of the evening will belong to the czech premiere Deka pod dekou – a joint work of two choreographers, both graduates of the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City Prague and members of The Ballet of the National Theatre of Prague, Tomáš Rychetský and Viktor Konvalinka. Through their authentic works they gained reputation and were met by great public acceptance and appreciation. Bohemia Balet performes their dance sketch titled Jakstohoven on both czech and foreign scenes with thriving success. It was this collaboration which incepted the idea of creating the new piece Deka pod dekou, inspired by the music of italian artist Paol Comté – Italien café. The choreographers characterized the piece with the words: tons of spontaneous dance, exaggeration, games and an atmosphere of a Cafe of the 20s/30s of the last century.

The entire evening is dedicated to the life anniversary of prof. Vladimír Vašut.
