CONFERENCE VIZE 2013

On 9th December 2013 in Divadlo v Celetné in Prague a conference entitled "Human potential in dance, mime theatre and new circus" will be held.  The conference will reflect the development of dance and movement in the Czech Republic from 1989 to present and open discussion about the issues that are crucial for a future development of these fields. The discussion will be about education and subsequent employment of graduates from dancing and movement schools, building infrastructure in regions and as well a development of dance in regions.
The meeting will be attended by leading Czech pedagogues, artists and cultural managers. Among them there will be Jan Kodet , an internationally known teacher and choreographer, Adéla Pollertová, dancer and teacher, Veronika Kotlíková, dancer and one of the founders of the file VerTeDance, Šárka Maršíková, general manager of Cirqueon, an umbrella organization for the support and development of new circus in the Czech Republic, as representatives of conservatoire and art schools in Prague, Brno and Ostrava, representatives of regional cultural centres such as Divadlo 29 Pardubice, Olomouc Divadlo Konvikt or Divadlo Trutnov UFFO . Participation in the discussion promised also delegates of the city of Olomouc, Pardubice and Trutnov.
The conference is divided into three blocks. The first block, an introduction, will be devoted to chart the development of dance, nonverbal theatre and new circus since the beginning of the nineties to present and it will introduce the current research „Dance as an entrepreneurial activity“. In the second session will be a discussion of education and practice, which will lead Professor Dagmar Hubová from the Department of Dance at the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Finally, the third block with the topic “Dance and physical theatre as an investment” will connect representatives of regional cultural centres and local politics. The moderator of it will be Yvon Kreuzmannová, president of the association Tanec Praha o.s., that is the professional supervisor of the block. Patronage of the conference overtook Vice-President of the Senate , Miluše Horská , who has been dealing with topics of non-profit sector.
