Czech Dance Platform 2011

Already the 17th edition of the festival of contemporary dance and movement theatre will take place from April 7th to 12th at Prague theatres Ponec, Teatro NoD, and Studio ALT@ – Hall 30. Once and again we are bringing to you the best of dance creation of the past year. Designed for general public, guests from theatres in other towns of the Czech Republic as well as those from abroad, the festival is a unique opportunity to see the most interesting pieces created by Czech artists during the past year. At the same time, the festival is a platform where national and international contacts are established, leading to future co-operations.
This year’s edition, besides the attractive core programme made of 14 dance pieces, will also offer a rich accompanying programme. A workshop of continual educational programme will be given by the Institute of Light Design. And that is not all! For the first time in the history of the festival, the civic association SE.S.TA will get involved: for both general public and professional public, they will organize aseminar of critical understanding of contemporary dance entitled New reading of dance - it will be given by Czech and foreign choreographers and dance reviewers. Besides watching dance, the spectators will thus plenty of other thing to do: to get involved in discussions given within the seminar, to come and see the opening of an exhibition of pictures NANOHACH OUT!, or to get into the festival mood at a Saturday night festival party. The artists, on the other hand, will have plenty of opportunities to talk with foreign promoters and establish new contacts, all of that for example t a market of projects called “Meet the Artist”.
