Dance Prize 2016

L’Institut del Teatre de la Diputació de Barcelona announces  the call of one of the major dance awards of the European Union, an award to help emerging choreographers and young dancers.
„Anyone interested in participating should submit a written and documented choreographic creation project with a 2 minutes video. Among all the applying projects a selection will be made of up to four finalists who will receive financial support to make a 15 minutes choreography,“ say organizers. All finalist choreographies will be presented in a Dance Gala in the Mercat de les Flors on the 10th of December. After the presentation the jury will announce the winning choreography of the Dance Award 2016 of the Institut del Teatre. The Award consists of a grant for the production in order to develop a choreography of 50 minutes minimum. The premiere of the winning choreography will take place during the Grec 2017 Festival de Barcelona.

The time period for the presentation of applications for the 2016 Dance Prize will be from   1 st September to 15 th September 2016, both inclusive.
