HAMU opens four-term course of Dance and Movement Education

Through two-year methodical and systematic work, the course enables its participants to learn and deepen the basic techniques and expressive tools of dance and movement education along with the related methodology, and to obtain certified qualification in the field of Dance and Movement Education.
The cycle of lectures and seminars takes place once a month from February to May and from September to December, on Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 4:45pm. The duration of the course is 16 hours per month, i.e. the total of 256 hours per course. The course is held at HAMU (the Academy of Performing Arts), Department of Dance.
Included in the course are two 2-week summer intensives with the duration of 48 hours = the total of 96 hours in the two weeks. The overall hour duration of the course is 352 hours. The summer intensives may take place outside Prague (e.g. UVS Beroun, or UVS Poněšice). The course begins in February and finishes two years later in January; upon passing the final exam, the participants obtain a certificate.
The precondition of the successful completion of the cycle of lectures and seminars is regular and active work, at least 75% attendance, continuous active approach in the domain of teaching, a final practical output and an exam on the methodology of the given dance technique.
The online application to the course is to be submitted by 15 November 2017. The confirmation of the application is supplied by email in two working days’ time, along with a draft contract and a request for payment. The total price of the course (4 terms) is 25500 CZK.
The participants meeting the above-mentioned requirements will obtain a certificate of completion of the course ‘Dance and Movement Education’ which attests systematic raising of professional teaching qualification, provided and guaranteed by the Department of Dance of the Music Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU).
