New Stage of the National Theatre, LaFabrika, Ponec – Theatre for Dance, Experimental Space NoD and DOX – Centre for Contemporary Art will host the showcase of performances and projects of the International Theatre Studio Farm in the Cave – for the first time in the twelve-year history of the world renowned Czech company. Its works go beyond the borders of physical, dance and music theatre. The retrospective of twelve years of Farm in the Cave will enable all fans of this unique theatre studio, as well as people who know nothing about it yet, to see the best of its up-to-now work, within just a few days in Prague. The showcase will start on 28 October, on Independent Czechoslovak State Day, and not by accident. Symbolically, Farm in the Cave refers to the fact that although it an international working team, it still feels to be a Czech company, successfully representing independent theatre all around the world. “Withinone week, thefestival will lead the full programme visitors throughout 12 years of the company’s life, presenting not only the choreographies, performed at various venues in Prague, but also attractive video recordings of the company’s explorations of diverse foreign cultures and themes, a symposium about Farm in the Cave’s productions, a workshop and an interesting guest – Spanish choreographer Daniel Abrea,” resumes the founder and key personality of Farm in the Cave, Viliam Dočolomanský, and he adds: “The festival 12 Years of Farm in the Cave gives acknowledgements to the city of Prague, to our audience and all the friends, institutions, donators and artists that have helped and still help us to exist as an independent, laboratory, international ensemble. Thanks to them, we have been and still are able to create continually and to leave a trace which can inspire and enrich other people. Every other year of the company’s life is a little miracle. I would like to invite not only the general public who do not know our work yet, but also our fans and theatre people follow us, because I am convinced that this festival clarifies what Farm in the Cave is and could be.” The retrospective 12 Years of Farm in the Cave will be preceded by a dance intervention held on 21 October at the National Theatre piazetta and featuring international performers from Sweden, Israel, Slovakia, Korea, Vietnam and Czech Republic – an original invitation to the whole festival. From 28 October to 1 November, it will be possible to see the essential pieces and projects of Farm in the Cave: Divadlo (The Theatre), Informátoři (The Whistleblowers),Čekárna (The Waiting Room) with Swedish dancer Charlottou Öfverholm and Sclavi – Emigrantovapíseň (Sclavi – The Emigrant’s Song). http://infarma.info a www.facebook/farmavjeskyni
