Studio ALTA in 2016
News
ALTA in progress is a new series of work in progress presentations of works from the fields of dance and nonverbal theatre. During the presentations, you can reveal the secrets of experimental artists, understand the process of creating a performance, and discuss with the artists. The entrance is always free.
In collaboration with Alfred ve dvoře Theater, TanzFaktur Cologne and Brottfabrik Bonn, Studio ALTA prepares a year-project RespondART, under which participating theaters bring several socially engaged performances, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers and experts on presented social issues. „The aim of the project is to bring the audience to the active reception of the artwork, a better understanding of today's world and their own critical thinking,” explain the organizers.
The project Think Through Dance! will also continue in 2016. Czech dancers will have the opportunity to get to know the works of artists from around the world. This year´s workshops will be lead by Zuna Kozánková, Lali Ayguade Farro, Jos Baker, Michael Simon, Jaro Viňarský and Peter Šavel. Moreover, a symposium of all tutors will take place at ALTA at the end of the year.
„Studio ALTA has been long established as a space for creation and research, providing a stable base for artists in the field of dance and physical theater and is a breeding ground for their further growth. As a major creative hub it therefore also initiates activities that promote progressive experimental creators in the search for new means of expression and active dialogue with the society. Projects in 2016 are a further step of this effort,” say representatives of Studio ALTA.
