The Arts and Theatre Institute and the Czech Centres have prepared a post-Christmas serving of Czech theatre and dance for American and international audiences
News
The Czech presentation will for the third time be in the organisational hands of the Czech Centres, which have a booth at the fair to present Czech theatre, dance, and musical arts through the participation of individual organisations, institutions, festivals, and promoters, who have art projects in their portfolios that are suited and open to performance abroad or to cooperation with foreign partners.
In 2013 the Arts and Theatre is again a partner in the Czech participation at the fair and together with the Czech Centres has prepared a showcase of Czech theatre and dance. A full programme has been prepared for 12 January 2013 at the Czech Centre in New York (in the Czech National Building). In the afternoon there will be a performance of Goldilocks by Drak Theatre, followed by a block of showcase performances made up of S/He Is Nancy Joe by Miřenka Čechová, Small Hour by 420PEOPLE, Solo for Lu by Archa Theatre, and a sample of Mah Hunt and Riders by Lenka Vagnerová & Company.
Cooperation has also been initiated with the prestigious Under the Radar festival in New York, which takes place at the same time as the fair. Here Farm in a Cave theatre will present its current projects as part of the accompanying programme. The programme of the fair and the festival includes lectures on the current theatre and dance scene in the Visegrád countries, which will be showcased here as part of the project Performing Arts Central Europe – Visegrád Countries Focus, coordinated since 2012 by the Arts and Theatre Institute.
