The Arts and Theatre Institute Is Going To Continue in the Presentation of Czech Scenic Arts at Outstanding Foreign Fairs in 2015

The APAP fair in New York with tradition of 50 years traditionally takes place immediately after the New Year’s Day from 7th to 12th January. The fair includes booths with their programme, conference and artistic showcase programme. The Czech Republic has participated in the event since 2010 when the ATI Czech national booth was presented together with the Czech Centre in New York. The showcase of Czech theatre, dance and music takes place every year since 2011 in the Bohemian National Hall. The Czech Centres and the ATI are preparing the national booth and a showcase of Czech theatre and dance for 2015. The Bohemian National Hall will welcome three Czech theatre and dance companies – Naive Theatre Liberec with the puppet production About the Lamb That Fell from the Sky, 420PEOPLE with Sacrebleu choreography and Alt@rt with the coproduction project called Boys Who Like to Play with Dolls.
Another fair, where the ATI is going to present contemporary Czech scenic art, is the TPAM fair in Yokohama. The international platform focused on theatre, dance and music presented the Prague Quadrennial in 2010 and the following year is going to see the bigger presentation of Czech theatre and music. The joint scenic art presentation of the Visegrád countries, which has been coordinated by the ATI since 2012 in the project of PACE.V4 (Performing Arts Central Europe – Visegrad Countries Focus), takes up to previous successful Central European and Czech-Slovak presentations and joins forces with the Theatre Institute in Bratislava. The Czech presentation will focus mainly on features, which are the most attractive for Japanese or Asian partners the most: physical and puppet theatre represented by Farm in the Cave and the Alfa Theatre, and Czech music represented by the BERG orchestra.
The end of the year will see the PAMS scenic arts fair in Seoul, South Korea, where the fair attracts attention of both local and international professionals. Since 2005, the fair takes place in October in the National Korean Theatre. Besides the fair, there is also a programme with national and international showcases. The ATI returns to the fair, which was coordinated by the prestigious Visegrád Focus in 2012, with the presentation focused on contemporary Czech puppet theatre. It is going to take form of various formats offered by the fair: distribution of promotion materials in the booth, presentation, networking events, lectures by representatives of contemporary Czech puppet theatre and other experts, social events, exhibitions and guest performances of a Czech puppet production. The preparation for the participation of the Czech Republic takes place in cooperation with the Czech Centre Seoul. Source: ATI
