The Bikes Dance at the KoresponDance Festival in July

„Žďár nad Sázavou will come to life much earlier thanks to this year´s accompanying programme of KoresponDance events, to give the citizens of Žďár enough time to experience the festival atmosphere, give them the opportunity to join the festival preparations and become really a part of it,“ says Marie Kinsky, the director of the Centre for choreographic development SE.S.TA. Recently, in May and June, artists have been coming to make use of the time of their creative residency programmes at the castle, an excellent Italian choreographer Paco Dècina is expected to arrive by the middle of June. Together with his French colleague Sébastien Fournier (a countertenor) and local dancers, musicians and singers he is going to stage an artistic project that will be presented to audiences during the festival. Preparations are underway also for the music and theatre parade through the town and the Dancing Bicycles under the baton of French choreographers Dominique Boivin and Pierre Nadaud. From the 30th June to July 4th, the first ever Performing Arts Summer Day Camp for kids is held in Žďár nad Sázavou. It is focused on development of creativity and is open for all children aged 9 to 15. The participants will be guided and instructed by experienced Czech artists with rich teaching practice Barbora Látalová (dance), Jakub Folvarečný (theatre) and Tomáš Fingerland (music). Apart from dance and theatre productions, this year the festival also offers various screenings, concerts, exhibitions of art and both guided and open tours of other exhibitions. The KoresponDance Festival 2014 is organised by the Centre for choreographic development SE.S.TA and it is held under the auspices of Jiří Běhounek, Governor of the Vysočina region, and Dagmar Zvěřinová, Mayor of Žďár nad Sázavou.
