KoresponDance Festival 2014 (CZ / SK / FR / IT) takes place on July 5th in Žďár nad Sázavou. Last year’s first International Festival of Dance and Movement Theatre KoresponDance featured an unforgettable production Něžný bagr. This year, thanks to Czech and foreign artists the genius loci of magic baroque premises of the former monastery and chateau Kinsky in Žďár nad Sázavou will come alive along with the rest of the town. "Dance will resonate with theatre and complement the music. It will be a festival full of surprises, where baroque singing meets contemporary dance by Paco Dècina (IT) in a wonderful production Arthur and where the town comes alive with the rhythm of the music and theatre parade and Dancing Bicycles by Dominique Boivin and Pierre Nadaud (FR). Anna Polívková and Halka Třešňáková (CZ) will have you in stitches with their playfulness and move you close to tears with their fragility in their piece příchod PŘECHOD odchod, just as Bára Látalová (CZ) with her solo piece Margareth Tells a Story. The festival programme also includes Tešlon a Frkl, a production with pieces of acrobatics performed by Lukáš Karásek (CZ) and Florent Golfier (FR). A concert of baroque music, which will be given in a collaboration with the Musica Figurata festival will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression, too. The concert will be performed in one of the most remarkable buildings by Santini, in the church of St. John of Nepomuk at Zelená Hora," the organizers claim.
„Žďár nad Sázavou will come to life much earlier thanks to this year´s accompanying programme of KoresponDance events, to give the citizens of Žďár enough time to experience the festival atmosphere, give them the opportunity to join the festival preparations and become really a part of it,“ says Marie Kinsky, the director of the Centre for choreographic development SE.S.TA. Recently, in May and June, artists have been coming to make use of the time of their creative residency programmes at the castle, an excellent Italian choreographer Paco Dècina is expected to arrive by the middle of June. Together with his French colleague Sébastien Fournier (a countertenor) and local dancers, musicians and singers he is going to stage an artistic project that will be presented to audiences during the festival. Preparations are underway also for the music and theatre parade through the town and the Dancing Bicycles under the baton of French choreographers Dominique Boivin and Pierre Nadaud. From the 30th June to July 4th, the first ever Performing Arts Summer Day Camp for kids is held in Žďár nad Sázavou. It is focused on development of creativity and is open for all children aged 9 to 15. The participants will be guided and instructed by experienced Czech artists with rich teaching practice Barbora Látalová (dance), Jakub Folvarečný (theatre) and Tomáš Fingerland (music). Apart from dance and theatre productions, this year the festival also offers various screenings, concerts, exhibitions of art and both guided and open tours of other exhibitions. The KoresponDance Festival 2014 is organised by the Centre for choreographic development SE.S.TA and it is held under the auspices of Jiří Běhounek, Governor of the Vysočina region, and Dagmar Zvěřinová, Mayor of Žďár nad Sázavou.
