Wind-up, A New Premiere by 420PEOPLE at Archa Theatre Coming Soon

A new choreography Wind-up with the original music by Amos Ben-Tal was created by Václav Kuneš, the artistic director of the company. Wind-up is intended to be a series of buildups of different lengths and kinds. "Sometimes a real theme develops, escalates and crashes, one small element being left over that then starts to rise by itself... sometimes just a beginning or a single element that repeats without changing much and then disappears for no reason...
Individual memories that flash once and then are gone, only to maybe return later.
"
Kuneš once again promises to deliver a dynamic piece, contemporary dance full of energy, a torrent of images and action. Costumes and set have been created by Václav Kuneš and Jan Mlčoch, the piece will be performed by Nataša Novotná, Zuzana Herényiová, Milan Odstrčil, Alexandr Volný, Jussi Nousiainen and Václav Kuneš.
Wind-up is a coproduction by 420PEOPLE, the Archa Theatre and Kylian Productions BV, in cooperation with the New Stage of the National Theatre and with the support of the Fondation BNP Paribas, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the City of Prague. Duet 14´20 ˝ from 27´52˝ by Jiří Kylián then concludes the program of this evening. The world famous Czech-born choreographer created the piece 27‘52‘‘ for the Nederlands Dans Theater II for the 25th anniversary of the formation of the company. Although the name of the work refers to the period of its duration (the length of the composition by Dirk Haubrich), the time spent by the dancers, choreographer, producers and costume designers preparing the premiere was an incredible 4,418.75 hours.

Choreography and stage design is by Jiří Kylián, music by Dirk Haubrich. Costumes have been created by Joke Visser, lighting design by Kees Tjebbes. Performing the piece will be Nataša Novotná and Václav Kuneš.
