Dance Writers


Blanca Siles worked for 6 years in 5 different African countries in an International Organisation dealing with Migration and Development issues. She finally swapped into Cultural Management to join the team of Ecole des Sables, the mythic dance contemporary school in Senegal, in 2017 and in 2018, the team of Les Récréàtrales, the amazing theatre festival in Burkina Faso. Back in Spain in 2019, she finishes another degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and keeps on specializing in Dance Research within the framework of her Masters in Anthropology. 

Eva Galatsanou is a writer and currently a Ph.D research candidate at the University of Athens.  She holds a BA in Communication and Media from the University of Athens and an MA in Contemporary Art Theory from the Goldsmiths, University of London.

Diana Cristina De Fex is a performer, dramaturg, choreographer, and socially engaged artist based in Giessen, Germany, where she is currently completing her Master’s in Choreography and Performance at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies. Diana is also a trained actress and Theatre of the Oppressed facilitator. She holds a Bachelor's and Maîtrise degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Paris-Nanterre. (www.dianadefex.com)

Isabel Hernández-Gil Crespo holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, and has published articles on the philosophy of film and aesthetics. She has also trained professionally as a classical and contemporary dancer and is working towards an aesthetic theory of dance, which was presented at seminar held by Newnham College, Cambridge. She is currently studying an MA on the history of contemporary art at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid.

Ivana Balabanova (N. Macedonia) is an awarded dancer, choreographer, entrepreneur and owner of one of the most successful cultural centers "Beatrix cultural Center" , as well as project coordinator of many socially-cultural and artistic projects with UNICEF, UNDP, UNHCR, LDA Struga, Europe House, the U.S. Embassy in N.Macedonia, the Ministry of Culture in N.Macedonia, the Municipality of Centar in Skopje, The City of Skopje, CSS Jadro, Youth Cultural Center, etc.

Mónica Jaramillo Sanjuán is an anthropologist, dancer and dance researcher. She holds a BA in social Anthropology from the Javeriana University in Colombia and is currently doing the Choreomundus MA focused in Dance research, knowledge and heritage. Her MA dissertation inquires upon the impact that Covid-19 pandemic have had on choreographic processes created in Colombia between 2020 and 2021.  

Richard Pettifer (GER/AUS) is an Australian theatre director, theorist, and critic based in Berlin. As a critic he is published in online magazines such as Sirp (EST), Arterritory (LVA), Arta (ROU), and Artslant (USA), and was an invited guest critic to Latvian Theatre Showcase 2018 and DRAAMA Festival Estonia. He has led workshops on critical writing and Theatre of the Oppressed in Ukraine, Serbia, and London, and has written for academic journals such as Symbolon (ROU) and Methis (EST). He was Artistic Director of Faki Festival Croatia, 2021.

Salome Jishkariani is a cultural manager, with experience in both, visual and performing arts management based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Currently, she is a co-founder and executive director of Circe – Experimental Platform for Dance and Theatre.
