Václav Kuneš
Václav Kuneš is a choreographer, dancer and co-founder and artistic director of 420PEOPLE company.
After graduation at Prague dance conservatory in 1993 he became a member of Nederlands Dans Theater 2. In 1998 he joined the main company, NDT 1. Under the artistic direction of Jiří Kylián he danced in works by Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Paul Lightfoot, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Johan Inger or Hans van Manen. He left the company in 2004 and became a freelance dancer. In 2007 Kuneš and his dance partner Nataša Novotná co-founded a 420PEOPLE dance company in Prague, where Kuneš is still an artistic director. He works as a choreographer (Ever, Where, Y/Why, REEN, A Small Hour, Fairy Queen, Affordance etc.), he has directed several dance films, colaborated with the Drama company of National theatre in Prague (Beauty and the Beast, May) or with Czech television (as a jury member of the show StarDance).
