Researcher self-reflection is an integral part of fieldwork, as well as of the process of writing the text itself. In connection with time spent in the field and the use of diverse methods, the researcher reflects on their own position and identity.
Laura Kolačkovská
Laura Kolačkovská a young researcher specialising in ethno-choreology and dance anthropology. She is a graduate of the Master‘s programme in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Institute of Ethnology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. She is also a graduate of the Master‘s degree programme Choreology at the Faculty of Music and Dance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague where is now Doctoral candidate in the field of choreology. Her research focuses on folk dance in different cultural and social contexts, including dance and commodification, contemporary forms of folk dance in urban settings, or dance competitions. Since 2022 she has been involved in a research project implemented by The Institute of Ethnology of the CAS. She is also a member of the ICTMD Study Group on Ethnochoreology. She is an active dancer, folk dance teacher and the main organiser of the Slovak Dance House in Prague.
