Small Inventory Festival This Year for the Thirteenth Time
The Small
Inventory Festival belongs to the significant events of the theatre festivals in the Czech Republic. This year visitors may look forward to more than 50 international and regional promoters, who will present a selection of the most interesting in the past year in the field of new theatre. During the week 19 to 25 February 2015 the festival will offer 33 events taking place in nine cultural areas of Prague / Studio ALTA, Archa Theatre, Art Prometheus, Ponec – theatre for dance, MeetFactory, Motus – Theatre Production Alfred in the yard, Experimental Space NoD, Studio Heroes and Trade Fair Palace (NG) /.
The Festival will start the international audio-visual project Trumpets in the Sky in the Archa Theatre, which was premiered on 14 March 2013 in the Norwegian Theatre Academy. Festival Director Adriana Světlíková says about the programme (www.malainventura.cz/2015/): "This year we have focused on the “new blood” on the stage with the aim of confronting with the established artists or projects that traditionally score on the local and international scenes. The inventory must be really consistent. The festival also includes a tour of the legendary Krepsko theatre across regions."
The NEST festival in the Trade Fair Palace will be in the centre of the accompanying programme for seven days in February. "This year we have managed to achieve an ideal connection of art and performative conception of the festival centre," says co-author and initiator of the concept Šárka Zahálková.
The Prague show is followed by the Small Inventory Jičín and Opava, and also by the Echoes of the Festival in the context of a nationwide network of regional partners. The main organizer of the festival is the New Network – Czech cultural network, which is aimed to promote new performing arts; they also announce residences, strive for the circulation of works, they create a network of theatre areas in Prague and regions to present the new theatre and they communicate about practical matters of this field.
